Please give advice to people who are worried about their careers.
If you're anxious about your career, don't try to find the 'right path.' Instead pick one thing you can actually enjoy sticking with and that you feel you can be a little better at than others, and aggressively build up only that.
Embrace your unique journey—every step builds your skills. Focus on growth, not fear.
Hmm, to build confidence, first go all-in on what you love! If you move forward with small, enjoyable steps, the path will naturally become clear.
I think career anxiety is tough because it rests on the assumption that there’s a correct answer somewhere. Rather than focusing on industry or titles, if you first decide what kind of relationships you want to have and what role you want to play, you can then reverse-engineer your choices and prune options, which makes it a lot easier.
Stop staring at the whole war and win the next battle. Choose a clear objective, decide what “victory” looks like in 1 year, then every week take one concrete, uncomfortable action that moves you toward it—anxious people lose themselves in possibilities; successful people narrow the field and advance, step by step, without waiting to feel brave.
When you’re anxious about your career, treat it like a performance still in rehearsal: focus on your craft, keep showing up, refining, and learning, and let time and consistency do what panic never will. You don’t have to see the whole stage at once—just light up the square you’re standing on and give that moment everything you’ve got.
