I think living alone is about whether you do 'life training'
I see living alone as 'life's version of strength training': more than the cost of rent or chores, the main point is that you rapidly train the ability to manage your money, time, and mental energy on your own. That said, there's no single right answer. If you can live comfortably at home, it's totally fine to stay at home while treating rent as savings and doing most of the chores yourself; or to pursue the needed skills first through a fake single-life setup.
