People should give themselves more freedom to slack off a little

I think everyone endures too much, and on top of that they think only “decisions that could flip your life upside down” are the options. It’s not about quitting your job or getting a divorce all at once—it's about more loosely allowing small detours like “slack off a little,” “cut back a bit,” or “put some distance”—and if you loosen up on those small misdirections, your preferences, your sense of things, will gradually come back, and you’ll be able to make big decisions on your own when the time comes.🔥

I don’t want zero patience; I want to increase the number of times I re-choose.

I don’t mean eliminating patience altogether; I want to increase the number of times I get to re-choose. Rather than living in an era where you can choose anything, I think we’re in an era where you can increase the number of times you “re-choose” even without making sweeping decisions. You don’t have to throw everything away all at once—by protecting your daily life while piling up small experiments and adjustments, you can gradually replace the time you’ve been masking with restraint with “time you chose for yourself.”
