If I’m going to crumble, it’s okay for my weakness to be exposed once
If I’m going to crumble, I’d rather my weakness be exposed just once. For me, the downside of showing weakness is less than the risk of breaking down, so if I can get help, I’m willing to sacrifice how I’m seen once. After that, I’ll deliver solid results, help others myself, and instead of complaining, I’ll approach it as “task design.” By doing so, I overwrite the label from “someone who seems to be struggling” to “someone who can manage themselves.”
